Brown Football Hosts Georgetown Looking for 1st Win of Season

Brown football is set to host Georgetown on Saturday
The Brown Bears football team returns to action on Saturday afternoon when they host Georgetown at Brown Stadium.

The Hoyas are coming into the game with a 1-3 record, while the Bears are 0-2 following a loss to Harvard last week.

Game time is set for 1 p.m.

Brown vs Georgetown

The Bears and Hoyas will meet for the sixth time dating back to 2005 on Saturday.

Brown holds a 4-1 series advantage overall.

The two teams last met in 2014 when Georgetown captured a 17-3 win over the Bears.

Brown had won the previous four games, including a 45-7 win in 2013.

Brown Offense

The Bears offense is led by sophomore quarterback Michael McGovern, who will make his third career start on Saturday.

McGovern currently ranks seventh in the country with 302.5 passing yards per game.

He also ranks ninth in the country in total offense with 316.5 yards per game.

So far this season, McGovern has completed 47 of 93 passes for 605 yards with two touchdowns and three interceptions.

Junior wide receiver Jakob Prall is averaging 26 yards per catch, good enough for ninth best in the country.

In the Bears last game against Harvard, he hauled in three catches for 120 yards.

Brown Defense

The Bears defense is led by defensive end Michael Hoecht, who led the Bears with 45 tackles, including 10 tackles for a loss and five quarterback sacks last season.

This season, Hoecht leads Brown with 22 tackles, including one sack.

Other defensive standouts for the Bears include Zach Getaway, who comes into the game with 13 tackles on the season and Daryle Banfield, who recorded eight tackles against Cal Poly and three against Harvard.
