Brown Football Edged by Cornell 37-35 in Final Seconds

The loss drops Brown to 1-5 on the season, while Cornell improves to 2-4 overall.
Brown’s Rally Falls Short

With just under seven minutes left in the game, Brown quarterback EJ Perry connected with Demitri Jackson on a nine-yard touchdown pass to cut Cornell’s lead to 34-32 after an extra point.
After a Bears defensive stop, Perry would again drive the Bears offense into Cornell territory.
This time, resulting in a 35-yard field goal by Dawson Goepferich to give the Bears a 35-34 lead with 4:17 left in the game.
It was Brown’s first lead in the contest since 6-3.
Brown Offense Can't Close Game
After the Brown defense got another stop, the offense had an opportunity to close the game out.
The Bears got the ball on the Cornell 29-yard line with 2:41 to play in the game.
With 42 seconds left, Brown decided to go for it on fourth and six from the Cornell 12-yard line, but Perry was sacked for a loss of 16 yards.
The Bears could have kicked a field goal to make it a four-point game, meaning Cornell would have needed a touchdown to win.
Instead, the Big Red got the ball back on their own 28-yard-line and five plays later, Nickolas Null sent a 41-yard field goal through the uprights to give Cornell a 37-35 win.
