Bryant Basketball to Face Louisville, Memphis in 2017 Gotham Classic

Bryant basketball to play in 2017 Gotham Classic
The Bryant men’s basketball team will face national powers Louisville and Memphis as part of the 2017 Gotham Classic. 

Bryant, who is in the tournament for the first time since 2013, will also play America East power Albany and MAAC member Siena. The games against Louisville and Memphis will both be on the road.

The Bulldogs will open the tournament on December 6 when they visit Albany before taking on Memphis and Louisville on December 9 and December 11, respectively. 

Bryant will wrap up the tournament by hosting Siena at the Chace Athletic Center on December 17. 

The Gotham Classic schedule is as follows: 

  • Dec. 6 - Siena at Louisville
  • Dec. 6 - Bryant at Albany
  • Dec. 9 - Bryant at Memphis
  • Dec. 9 - Albany at Siena
  • Dec. 11 - Bryant at Louisville
  • Dec. 11 - Albany at Memphis
  • Dec. 16 - Louisville vs. Memphis (Madison Square Garden)
  • Dec. 17 - Siena at Bryant
  • Dec. 20 - Albany at Louisville
  • Dec. 20 - Siena at Memphis

 

Bryant’s 2017-18 season schedule is expected to be announced in the coming weeks. 

Bryant’s Offseason 

After finishing with 12-20 overall and 9-9 in conference last season, Bryant lost two key starters in Nisre Zouzoua and North Providence’s Marcel Pettway this offseason. 

Zouzoua announced that he was transferring via his twitter account on March 21 after averaging 20 points per game to lead Bryant last season. 

Pettway announced his departure on May 8. He averaged 11 points and 7 rebounds for Bryant last season.
