The Bryant Bulldogs edged Robert Morris 49-46 on Saturday afternoon in their Northeast Conference (NEC) opener.

"We practice very hard and, to their credit, they work very hard to be in great shape and towards the end of the game that showed a little bit. The amount of support we get is remarkable and being the head coach here is a special job. All the guys that were watching today that our alums have a lot to be proud of because this a special group of kids," said Bryant head coach James Perry after the game. 

The Bulldogs improve to 3-1 overall and 1-0 in the NEC.

Bryant Edges Robert Morris

The Bulldogs built up a 42-24 lead with ten minutes left to play in the third quarter when Declan Burt caught a 60-yard touchdown pass from Price Wilson.

However, Robert Morris would score three straight times and take a 46-42 lead on a one-yard run by Jimmy Walker with 6:46 to play in the fourth quarter.

The Bulldogs would then go on a nine play, 75-yard drive capped off by a 26-yard touchdown run by Isaac McCray to retake the lead, 49-46 with 3:09 to play in the game.

In Robert Morris’ final possession, the Bulldogs would force and recover a fumble on a sack of quarterback Jimmy Walker to seal the game.

Wilson finished the game completing 25 of 38 passes for 359 yards and four touchdowns. He also had two interceptions.

Next Up

Bryant returns to action Saturday, October 6 when they take on Duquesne.

Game time is set for 1 p.m.
