With the game still scoreless in the top of the 6th, New Jersey’s Jayden Capindica hit a ground ball to Crain to score Sal Garcia and give New Jersey a 1-0 lead.

On the play, Lucas Tanous threw to home play, but it resulted in an error that scored  J.R. Rosado and give New Jersey a 2-0 lead.

In the bottom of the sixth, Barrington’s Mason Crain got a two-out base hit to keep Rhode Island alive.

However, Alex Anderson grounded out to end the game.

Missed Opportunities

Barrington only had one hit in the game, but had opportunities with men on base.

The biggest opportunity they had came in the bottom of the 5th inning when they were able to put two men on with no outs after working two walks.

However, the next three Barrington hitters all struck out to end the inning.

Rhode Island also had men on second and third early in the game, but could not cash in.

Barrington’s Run

Barrington is the fifth Rhode Island team in the last six years to reach the World Series joining Cumberland, Cranston West, Warwick North, and Coventry.

Barrington advanced to the Little League World Series after beating Goffstown, New Hampshire in the regional final in Bristol.

The Goffstown coach claims Barrington should have been disqualified for stealing signs.

The Barrington team denies the charges.

After losing to Virginia in the World Series opener, Barrington bounced back with a 6-1 win over Kentucky to avoid elimination.
