The New England Patriots have placed rookie wide receiver N’Keal Harry on injured reserve and re-signed wide receiver Demaryius Thomas, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

According to Schefter, Harry is expected to return in a couple of months.

He is eligible to return because he made the Patriots initial 53-man roster before being place on injured reserve.

New England selected Harry in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft, but he has battled ankle and hamstring injuries throughout training camp and the preseason.

Harry played briefly in the Patriots first preseason game against Detroit, hauling in two catches before leaving with an injury.

Thomas Returns

With Harry being put on IR, New England brought back Demaryius Thomas just days after cutting him.

Thomas signed with the Patriots in the offseason and saw action in the fourth preseason game after coming off of the physically unable to perform (PUP) list.

In the game, Thomas hauled in seven catches for 87 yards and two touchdowns to lead New England.
