Patriots Ranked 2nd Most Valuable Franchise in NFL

The New England Patriots are the second most valuable franchise in the NFL with a value of $3.4 billion, according to Forbes. The Patriots were also ranked second in 2015. 

New England ranks only behind the Dallas Cowboys, valued at $4.2 billion and just ahead of the New York Giants at $3.1 billion. 

“The team continues to increase stadium revenue. The Patriots removed nearly 2,000 seats at Gillette Stadium last year to create an indoor/outdoor club that borders the end zone and offers field-level sight lines,” said Forbes.

According to Forbes, the Patriots bring in $523 million in revenue while having an operating cost of $212 million. 

In 1994, Robert Kraft paid $172 million to buy the Patriots. Under Kraft’s ownership, the Patriots have won 4 Super Bowls and have been there 7 time. 

The AFC East 

The New York Jets are the next closest team to the Patriots in the AFC East valued at $2.75 billion, good enough for 7th best in the league.

The Miami Dolphins are valued at 12 in the NFL at $2.375 billion.

The Buffalo Bills are the least valuable team in the league at $1.5 billion. 

Patriots Home Opener 

The Patriots open Gillette Stadium on Sunday when they host the Miami Dolphins at 1 p.m. 

The Patriots and Dolphins split the season series in 2015, each team winning at home.
