PC Hockey's Parisi Signs 2-Year Deal With Montreal Canadiens

Providence College hockey defenseman Tom Parisi has signed a two year, two way contract with the Montreal Canadiens of the NHL  for the 2016-17 and 2017-18 season, announced Canadiens GM Marc Bergevin. 

Parisi took part in Montreal's development camp in July of 2015.

In the last season with the Friars, Parisi scored one goal and had 15 assists, including a +12 rating while appearing in all 38 games. 

In 2014-15, Parisi scored the game winning goal against Denver that lifted the Friars to the Frozen Four. On top of that, he also scored the game tying goal in the National Championshp game against Boston University. 

Parisi has five career NCAA Tournament points which places him in the top 10 among active players. 

Parisi played a total of 144 games at Providence, scoring 12 goals and recording 43 assists with a +46 rating. This past season, he also blocked 43 shots. 

He was a co-captain for the Friars this season. 

Canadiens 

The Montreal Canadiens are one of the NHL's Original 6 franchises and are led by goaltender Carey Price and star defensemen P.K. Subban. 

This season Price is injured and is out for the season. Montreal is 34-36-6 overall and with just 6 games left will miss the playoffs.
