URI Men’s Basketball Rolls Over College of Charleston

The University of Rhode Island men’s basketball team crushed the College of Charleston on Sunday 91-53 at the Ryan Center.

The game was not that close.

The Rams were led by Javote Brown, who scored 17 points, grabbed 7 rebounds, and 4 blocked in just 23 minutes.

Jamarques Lawrence also added 16, and Sebastian Thomas added 15 for the Rams.

The Rams were leading 45-16 at half-time.

Charleston was 2 of 21 from behind the 3-point line.

URI is now 5-0, and Charleston falls to 4-2.

Next week, the Rams travel south to play to St. Augustine, FL to play in the Jacksonville Classic.

The Rams are scheduled to play Detroit Mercy on Wednesday and UT Arlington on Thursday.

After the Florida trip, they return to Rhode Island and face Yale University, Providence College and Brown University in an eight day period between December 2 and 10.
