Manni assumes command after a long and respected career in public service, including 25 years with the Rhode Island State Police, retiring in 2015 as Major, the fifth highest-ranking member of the command staff.
He was then appointed as Director of Operations, Safety, and Security for the Rhode Island Turnpike and Bridge Authority before being selected as Town Manager for the Town of Narragansett in 2016.
Manni officially stepped down from his role of Town Manager earlier this month, paving the way for the Rhode Island State Senate to confirm his appointment as Superintendent of the Rhode Island State Police and Director of the Department of Public Safety earlier this week.
