"A preliminary investigation indicates that Nissan 300Z, operated by Mr. Alba, was traveling east on Scituate Avenue at a high rate of speed. He could not negotiate the curve in the road at Sweat Pea Drive, crossed the double yellow lines, and began traveling east in the westbound lane. He then swerved to avoid a vehicle traveling west on Scituate Avenue, causing him to lose control of his vehicle. The Ford Edge was traveling west on Scituate Avenue and was struck by the Nissan head-on," according to police.
