RI State Police Raid Home With State-Licensed Day Care That Had Guns and Drugs
According to RISP, their target was a Cranston man, and in that same house that they raided, is a state-licensed daycare facility.
“As a result of this investigation, a court-authorized search warrant was executed at the residence located at 98 Western Promenade, Cranston. Based on illegal contraband located and seized on scene, members of the HIDTA Task Force charged Aaron Cabreja, age 31, of 98 Western Promenade, Cranston, Rhode Island with numerous firearms and narcotics offenses," said RISP.

The daycare, Promenade Kids, is licensed through the Rhode Island Department of Human Services and is operated by the owner of the residence, Annette Jordan. During the search warrant, it was learned that Cabreja is in a relationship with Ms. Jordan’s daughter and was residing with her on the second floor of the residence. There were no children present during the execution of the search warrant," RISP continued.
A review of the online state inspection reports of the Rhode Island Department of Human Services shows that the daycare facility was a 1-star facility and last inspected in January of 2022.
No other inspection reports are posted on the state’s website.
GoLocal reached out to the Department of Human Services. Its spokesperson, James Beardsworth, did not respond.
Narcotics and firearms charges include the Possession With the Intent to Deliver over 1 oz of a Schedule II Controlled Substance – Fentanyl, Possession With the Intent to Deliver a Schedule II Controlled Substance – Fentanyl, Possession With the Intent to Deliver a Schedule II Controlled Substance – Crack Cocaine, Distribution of a Controlled Substance in a School Zone, and Possession of a Firearm While Committing a Controlled Substance Violation.
