Man Arrested in Providence Bank Robbery is Prime Suspect in Warwick Bank Robbery

The man arrested in a bank robbery in Providence is the prime suspect in a bank robbery in Warwick on Friday GoLocal has learned.

As GoLocal reported, police responded to a report of a robbery at the TD Bank at 180 Westminster shortly after 1:50 PM on Saturday. 

The suspect reportedly came into the bank and demanded money from a bank teller — he then fled the location with an undisclosed amount of cash.

According to police, the suspect, later identified as William Archer, age 59, was later apprehended by officers on a RIPTA bus. 

He was taken to Central Station for processing. 

Now, GoLocal learned authorities believe he is the top suspect in a Warwick bank robbery the day before. 

Warwick police had reported that on Friday shortly after 2 PM, a white male entered the Harbor One Bank located at 2089 Warwick Ave and demanded that the teller hand over the cash from her drawer.

The male then exited the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash and took off Westbound on Brendard Avenue on bicycle.
