About Incident

When they arrived, officers said they spoke with a male in his 50s, who said the group had been gathered to preach the Gospel in public.

He said a man on a second-story porch adjacent to the location began throwing small fireworks at them - before moving to large ones.

One man reportedly tried to kick a smoking firework away and sustained injuries to his leg; a woman sustained injuries to her leg and buttock; and a male sustained injuries to his stomach.

Based on a description of the suspect, police said they searched the surrounding area and apprehended Tyreese Loeurm Chet, 21, who police say admitted to tossing the fireworks.

Police say the victims were treated for minor injuries and that evidence of fireworks was collected at the scene.
