After disregarding multiple orders to leave and making physical contact with a detective, the individual was restrained and taken into custody without further incident, said police.

The suspect, identified as Kevin Duffy, 27, who is employed as an Animal Control Officer but currently out of work, is being held pending arraignment in 6th District Court on charges of simple assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, and obstructing a police officer in the execution of duty.

Police later clarified that Duffy is on leave and is being paid by the city.
