Shots Fired Into Providence Residence - With Police Officer Inside

Shots were fired into a residence in Providence over the weekend - while a Providence Police officer was inside the property. 

According to Providence Police, the department is investigating the report of gunfire that hit a residence on Bogman Street in the early morning hours of Saturday. 

An off-duty Providence Police officer visiting his girlfriend at the home was present at the time, said police.

No injuries were reported, and there is no indication that the officer was the target or involved. 

Detectives and members of the Bureau of Criminal Identification responded to process the scene and recovered several rounds that struck the residence. 

The investigation remains ongoing.

 

Weekend Violence in Providence

It was just one reported incident of gun violence in the city over the weekend. 

As GoLocal wrote on Saturday, shots were fired into a Providence Housing Authority complex on Saturday.
