Shots Fired Into House in Providence - Shell Casings, Live Ammo Found at Scene

Providence Police are investigating a report of gunshots fired into a home in the city overnight.

Shortly after 2 AM Saturday morning, police were called to Whitmarsh Street, off of Elmwood Avenue, for a report of shots fired.

 

According to police, they met with a male resident who told officers that a short while earlier, he heard gunshots fired at his home. 

The resident told police that he then went outside and saw bullet holes in the exterior of the building. 

 

Police said over ten shell casings and a round of live ammunition were found at the scene.

Detectives are currently investigating.
