Woman Reports Ex-Boyfriend Pointed Gun at Her and Fired Shots -- Providence Police Investigating

A woman in Providence told police that an ex-boyfriend accosted her with a gun on Saturday - and when she went to escape, he fired shots.

About Incident 

Shortly after 7 PM on Saturday, police responded to a report of shots fired on Trent Street, off of Admiral Street in Providence.

When police arrived, a woman told them that her ex-boyfriend was waiting for her at the house -- and pointed a gun at her.

She told police as she tried to gain entrance into the house, he grabbed her and took her car keys.

According to police, the victim was able to get inside the house and shut the door, which she said her ex-boyfriend tried to break down. 

It was then she said she heard shots being fired before her ex-boyfriend fled the scene.

Upon investigation, police said they observed shell casings -- as well as a live round -- in the driveway outside the home.

Based on the vehicle description, police were later able to locate the male suspect and place him into custody.
