Providence police have made multiple gun-related arrests over the weekend so far.

As GoLocal reported earlier in November, the City of Providence continues to see suspects arrested and charged with gun crimes, only to be released and arrested on new and even more serious gun charges.

Shortly before midnight on Friday, police reported making a seatbelt violation-related stop off Eddy Street in Providence.

Police said that the driver was acting suspiciously; a search of the vehicle by police reportedly found a stolen firearm with live ammunition.

Then, early Saturday morning, police on detail on Broad Street responded to a report of an after-hours party.

According to police, a vehicle with Pennsylvania license plates attempted to leave the scene after witnessing police -- by putting the car in reverse.

A passenger fled the vehicle on foot and reportedly discarded a firearm before being apprehended. Police then reported locating a gun with live ammunition.

The driver of the vehicle was also detained.
