Providence Police Investigating Armed Robbery at Convenience Store

Providence Police are investigating a report of an armed robbery in the city on Sunday afternoon. 

About Incident 

Shortly after 3 PM on Sunday, police responded to Arm Market at 29 Academy Avenue for a report of an armed robbery.

The store clerk told police a male had entered the store, approached the counter and brandished a knife, demanding money.

According to the clerk, the suspect proceeded to come behind the counter, taking cash from the register as well as cigarettes. 

The clerk told police the suspect then fled on foot. 

Providence police are currently investigating.
