Providence Police Identify Latest Homicide Victim

Providence Police on Monday identified the victim of the homicide that occurred on Friday, December 11 at approximately 2:28 p.m. at 198 Lenox Avenue as Jean Carlos Mercedes, age 27.

According to police, a suspect was seen fleeing the area and was described as a male subject, approximately 6 feet tall and 250 pounds with dreadlocks.

He was wearing a black hoodie, grey sweat pants and white sneakers. 

The suspect fled in a black vehicle, possibly a Nissan Altima.
