Providence Police Investigate Stabbing, Reports of Shots Fired
Providence Police are investigating numerous reports of shots fired Saturday afternoon and overnight in the city.
In addition, police responded to a call for a stabbing early Sunday morning at Kennedy Plaza

About Incidents
Shortly before 2 p.m. on Saturday afternooon, police responded to the area of Wilson Street and Elmwood Avenue for a report of shots fired.
A woman told police she was walking with her husband when they were approached by two females.
The woman told police that one of the females pulled out a gun and shot multiple times towards her; police were unable to find any casings at the scene.
Police then responded to a report of shots fired just after 2 p.m. by Academy Avenue and Amity Street.
Witnesses told police they heard gunshots and then saw a white car speed away toward Smith Street; another set of witnesses in a vehicle told police they heard more than a half dozen gunshots.
On Sunday morning shortly after midnight, police went to Whitehall Street for a report of shots fired; residents inside a home said they heard multiple shots and saw a man in all black fleeing the scene. Police found spent shell casings at the scene.
Police also early Sunday morning responded to the area of 1220 Broad Street and the parking lot adjacent to Parkview Restaurant and Lounge for a report of shots fired.
At the scene, police found more than a dozen shell casings.
Stabbing in Kennedy Plaza
Shortly after midnight Sunday morning, police responded to Kennedy Plaza for a report of a stabbing.
Police encountered a male victim bleeding from the face and back from multiple stab wounds, who was transported by rescue to Rhode Island Hospital.
The victim, who told police he did not see his assailant, is reportedly in stable condition.
