Robbery at Gunpoint at 24-Hour Walgreens in Providence

Providence Police responded to a report of an armed robbery at a Walgreens in the city overnight.

About Incident

Police were called to the Walgreens on Elmwood Avenue shortly after 1 AM on Saturday for a report of a robbery.

The store is open 24 hours a day.

According to police, an employee told police that two men entered the store and approached the cash register.

One of the suspects, who the victim said was masked, reportedly showed a gun and demanded all the cash from the registers.

The suspects took an undisclosed amount of money and then fled the store. 

Detectives are currently investigating.
