In one of the most bizarre and crowded congressional races since the creation of the republic, the second quarter Federal Election Campaign reports are now in.

Congressman David Cicilline quit his seat in Congress effective June 1 to take over the position as the head of the Rhode Island Foundation and collect a salary of $650,000 for the group dedicated to supporting those in need.

 

Here are the top 10 leaders:

 

1) Don Carlson reports $769,986.32 cash on hand. The Jamestown businessman’s campaign funds have overwhelmingly come from his own pocket.

 

2) Aaron Regunberg, the former RI State Representative, has $396,987.29 cash on hand.

3) Former staffer for Gina Raimondo and Joe Biden, Gabe Amo, reports $311,494.02.

 

4) State Senator Sandra Cano reports cash position of $250,272.11

 

5) Rhode Island Lt. Governor Sabina Matos has a report of $215,000.24 cash on hand.

 

6) Walter Berbick, a Navy veteran, reports $103,845.94.

 

7) Businessman Nicholas Autiello reports cash of $97,165.57.

9) State Representative Stephen Casey, who represents Woonsocket, has $36,544.30 cash on hand.

 

10) Marine Veteran and the only Republican to hit the top 10 -- Gerry Leonard, has $31,307.11 on hand.

 

The party primaries will be held in September.
