5 Takeaways From Brown's 88-77 Loss to UNH
"I'd like to credit New Hampshire, I think they are a really good team. They are really well coached, they have good players, good talent, so you have to credit them. I know we can be better, I expect us to be better, I thought we did some good things like we have in all of our games, but it took us a little bit too long, a little bit too late against a good team like that, but I saw some encouraging things especially in the second half," said Brown head coach Mike Martin after the game.

UNH would extend their lead to 11, 43-32, as the first half came to a close.
In the second half, the Bears go the lead down to eight points on numerous occasions early on but failed to string together defensive stops to keep momentum alive.
The Bears trailed by 17, 74-57, with 6:14 to play in the half when they switched to a 1-2-2 press and managed to string together stops.
Brown went on a 14-5 run to cut their deficit to eight points, 79-71 with two minutes to go, however, Brown was unable to get closer than seven the rest of the way.
New Hampshire knocked down their free throws and sealed the win.
The Leaders
Brown was led by Cedric Kuakumensah who netted 15 points on 6 of 11 shooting from the field. J.R. Hobbie poured in 12 points in 25 minutes off the bench.

Brown returns to action on Sunday when they travel to Texas to face #25 SMU. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m.

Corey Daugherty
Freshman Corey Daugherty playd 27 minutes off the bench, the second most minutes of any Brown player, other than Steven Spieth who played 30 minutes.
Daugherty tallied nine points on 4 of 10 shooting from the field, while also dishing out four assists and grabbing three rebounds.
Daugherty continues to impress early in the season.
Bench Points
One area in which coach Martin and Brown fans will be happy about is the bench play. Brown' bench outscored New Hampshire's 29-15 in the game.
The Brown bench was led by J.R. Hobbie who poured in 12 points and Corey Daugherty who added ten.
Brown has a lot of scoring coming off their bench this season which is a positive, obviously.
Cedric Kuakumensah
Cedric Kuakumensah led Brown with 15 points on 6 of 11 shooting from the field, including two of three from three-point land.
Kuakumensah also grabbed eight rebounds and had two blocks. He is now seven blocks away from the all-time Ivy League record.
Things got off to a rough start for Cedric Kuakumensah as he picked up two fouls early in the game and only played nine minutes in the first half.
Kuakumensah also ran into early foul trouble in Brown's last game against Providence.
Free Throws
A huge difference in the game was the free throw shooting.
New Hampshire got to the line 34 times and converted 28 free throws for a percentage of 82.
Brown got to the line 26 times but only managed to convert 16 free throws for a percentage of 61.
The Bears lost the game by 11 points and missed 12 free throws.
Too Little, too late.
The Bears trailed by 11 points, 43-32, at the half and for muchof the second half struggled to string a series of defensive stops together that would have got them back in the game.
In the final minutes of the game, Brown went into a 1-2-2 press and that got them back in the game as the Bears cut a 17 point deficit to 7 with a minute to go.
"First half and second half, I didn't think our defense was where it needed to be, particularly on the interior and that's all of us, we have to coach it beter and execute it better," said Brown head coach Mike Martin.
