UPDATED: Barrington's World Series Opener Postponed to Friday Due to Weather

Barrington Little League’s World Series opener has been postponed to Friday due to weather.

“Due to weather, all games for today have been rescheduled to tomorrow,” the Little League World Series announced.

The time of Friday's game set for 10 a.m.

If Barrington wins on Friday, they will play Sunday. If Barrington loses, their second game will take place on Saturday.

Barrington was originally scheduled to play Virginia’s Loudoun South Little League on Thursday afternoon in their Little League World Series opener.

However, due to lightning and heavy rain, the game was delayed for over three hours before being postponed.

Barrington’s Run

Barrington is the fifth Rhode Island team in the last six years to reach the World Series joining Cumberland, Cranston West, Warwick North, and Coventry.

Barrington advanced to the Little League World Series after beating Goffstown, New Hampshire in the regional final in Bristol this past Saturday.
