Brown and Bryant Men's Basketball Teams Lose in Openers

Both the Brown and Bryant men’s basketball teams fell in their 2023-24 openers on Monday night.

Brown played a back-and-forth game with Colgate University in New York, but ultimately fell 72-70.

Keno Lilly, Jr., led the Bears with 21 points, and Nana Owusu-Anane added 20 points and 7 rebounds.

Brown missed 12 free throws.

Colgate was led by Braeden Smith with 17 points.

 

Bryant Falls to Manhattan in Phil Martelli Jr.’s Coaching Debut

Bryant University men’s basketball has been in chaos in recent weeks with head coach Jared Grasso being put on leave and his subsequent arrest.

Martelli was coaching his first game at Bryant after taking over for Grasso.

Manhattan won 61-59 in Smithfield.
