The Brown University football team will look to snap a three-game losing streak on Saturday afternoon when they host #16 Princeton at Brown Stadium.

Brown head coach James Perry served as the offensive coordinator at Princeton from 2011-2016.

“It is always fun, there are staff members that I know very well. Anytime, you work seven years at a place it is special. I had seven great years, I loved being there, we won a lot of football games together and so it will be fun. It will be a great challenge for us,” Perry told GoLocalProv.

Princeton enters the game with a record of 4-0 on the year, and have won 14 straight games dating back to last season.

"Princeton has a terrific team. They bring a lot of team speed on defense, and they have one of the best players on defense in all of the FCS. Offensively, they are coming off a big season, last year they shattered all types of records. It will be a great football game, both teams like to play fast, we are excited to compete," said Perry.

Meanwhile, the Bears are 1-3 overall following last week’s loss to Holy Cross.

Perry added, "On a positive note we have scored over 30 so we are making progress there. I think we are practicing very well, that's the best thing, so it's just a matter of time before we are making turnovers and getting stops. I’m really happy with how hard the kids work and how hard we practice."

Game time is set for 12:30 p.m.

Brown vs Princeton

Brown and Princeton have met 85 times, dating back to 1898, with the Tigers holding a 58-27-0 series lead.

Princeton has won the last three meetings, including a 48-10 decision last year in New Jersey.

Brown's last win over the Tigers came in 2015 when the Bears escaped with a 38-31 victory at Brown Stadium.

Brown Offense

The Bears offense will look to build on what they have done over the last two weeks, putting up 28 and 30 points respectively.

Brown quarterback EJ Perry leads the Ivy League and ranks fifth in the country in total offense with 344 yards per game and seventh rushing yards per carry.

On the year, Perry has completed 95 of 160 passes for 1,002 yards and eight touchdowns.

Jakob Prall leads Brown receivers with 12 catches for 160 yards, while Scott Boylan has hauled in 13 passes for 159 yards and four touchdowns.

Brown Defense

The Bears defense comes into the game giving up 37 points per game and 351 passing yards per game.

The defense is led by linebacker Michael Hoecht, who has 22 tackles, six tackles for loss, two sacks and three quarterback hits on the year.

“We have a great defensive line, Michael Hoecht is having a great year for us.  So we are an aggressive team. We are always looking for a chance to get turnovers and stay aggressive as much as possible,” said Perry.

Elijah Pierre follows up with 4.5 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks on the season.
