Bryant Beats Sacred Heart 91-85 in Double OT Thriller

The Bryant Bulldogs defeated the Sacred Heart Pioneers 91-85 in double overtime on Wednesday night at the Chace Athletic Center on the Bryant University campus. The win sends the Bulldogs to their first ever NEC semifinal which will be played on Saturday, March 7 at noon time against Robert Morris at the Sewall Center. The game will be televised on Fox College Sports and MSG Network.

Joe O'Shea knocked down a desperation three-pointer with 0.3 seconds left in the game to tie it at 63 and send it into overtime.

In the first overtime, the Bulldogs led by three points with 25 seconds to play, but a foul by Dan Garvin would give Sacred Heart's, Evan Kelley, a game tying and one to send the contest into double overtime tied at 77. 

Bryant outscored Sacred Heart 14-8 in the second overtime and went on to clinch their first birth in the NEC semifinal, beating Sacred Heart 91-85. 

Bryant was led by Joe O'Shea, who netted 23 points, while Dyami Starks followed up with 22 points to get Bryant the win. 

Sacred Heart was led by Cane Broome, who poured in 23 points to lead the Pioneers in the loss. 

The Bulldogs return to action on Saturday, March 7 when they visit Robert Morris for the NEC semifinal. Tip-off is set for noon time.
