Brown Rolls Lyndon St 88-42, Ivy League Play Awaits

The Brown Bears (9-8) defeated (3-9) Lyndon State 88-42 on Monday night at the Pizzitola Center. With the win, Brown ties a school record for most non-conference league wins in a season previously held by the 2001-02 squad.

The Bears held a 13-8 lead with 13 minutes to go in the first half and then proceeded to go on a 23-4 run to break the game open. The Bears led 36-12 with three minutes to go in the first half and then cruised to a victory in the second half.

Brown was led by Leland King who posted a double-double with 19 points and a career high 16 rebounds. King, who missed the last game with an injury, also dished out a team leading six assists in the game. 

Steven Spieth and J.R. Hobbie both followed up with 12 points for the Bears. 

David Johnson led Lyndon State with 18 points

Next up, Brown hosts Yale on Saturday at 2 p.m. at the PIzzitola Center as Ivy league play begins.
