With the game tied at 2 late in the second period, Maple Leafs star Auston Matthews took a pass from William Nylander just inside the face-off circle and fired it top-shelf past Tuukka Rask to give Toronto a 3-2 lead heading into the third.

Trailing by one in the final period, the Bruins got a power play in the opening 30 seconds after Brad Marchand was taken down in the corner.

On the man advantage, Rick Nash set up David Pastrnak in front of the net, but Pastrnak rang it off the post.

Pastrnak would have another opportunity with one minute left on the power play, but Toronto goaltender Frederik Andersen made the save.

Pastrnak had six points (3 goals, 3 assists) in the Bruins game two win.

Toronto's Patrick Marleau would score with 3:35 left to play in the game to seal the win.

Pastrnak would have another opportunity in the final two minutes, however, Anderson would make a diving stick save to preserve Toronto's two-goal lead.
