The New England Patriots clinched the AFC East title on Sunday afternoon, beating the Buffalo Bills 24-12 at Gillette Stadium.

The win improves New England to 10-5 overall, while the Bills drop to 5-10.

Patriots Run Past Bills

The Patriots running attack was dominant from the start.

New England ran for 273 yards in the game, including 179 yards in the first half.

Sony Michel got the scoring started for New England in the first quarter.

Michel capped off a six play, 55 -yard drive with a four-yard touchdown run to give the Patriots a 7-0 lead after a Stephen Gostkowski extra point sailed through the uprights.

Michel finished the game with 17 carries for 118 yards to lead the Patriots.

The Patriots running attack did more damage in the second quarter when James White ran one in from 27 yards out to give the Patriots a 14-0 lead following a Gostkowski extra point.

White had 39 yards rushing on nine carries, as well as, two catches for 13 carries.

After the Bills cut New England’s lead to 14-6 following back-to-back field goals, the Patriots answered when Tom Brady found Julian Edelman for a 32-yard touchdown pass to put the Patriots ahead 21-6 following a Gostkowski extra point.

Gostkowski would add a field goal in the fourth quarter to make the score 24-6.

The Bills would add a touchdown in the final minute to make the final score 24-12.

Brady's Day

As was reported earlier this week, Brady is playing with a torn or partially torn MCL in his knee.

Prior to the game, Brady came out for warmups and jogged to about the 40-yard line before stopping and throwing warmup passes.

Usually, Brady jogs all the way down the sideline, gives a fist pump to the fans in the end zone seats and jogs back.

Brady finished the game completing 13 of 24 passes for 126 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions.

He was taken out of the game midway through the fourth quarter and replaced by Brian Hoyer.
