URI Gets a Win - Stops Losing Streak

The University of Rhode Island men’s basketball team won its final regular-season game against Fordham University, ending a seven-game losing streak.

Rams won 58-50 in New York

Rhode Island is now (12-19, 6-12 Atlantic 10).

Tyson Brown led the team with 12 points and added 11 rebounds — it was his career first double-double.

Guard Zek Montgomery had 11 points and two boards off the bench and forward David Green had 10 points and five rebounds.

The win ends the season on a bright note, after an extremely disappointing breakdown in the second half of the campaign.

The Rams, since mid-January, are 3-12.

Rhode Island will play in the opening round of the Atlantic 10 Championship on Tuesday, March 12. The opponent and official seeding will be announced later today.
