URI Rolls UMass 68-50 on Senior Night

The URI Rams (17-13, 9-8 A10) defeated (12-17, 5-12 A10) UMass 68-50 on Thursday night at the Ryan Center on senior night. The Rams reach the 13 home win mark for the second straight season. 

The Rams win their second straight game. 

Domination

URI dominated right from the start of the game, jumping out to an 11-0 lead after a Four McGlynn three went down with 12:13 left in the first half. 

The Rams were up 24-6 with 7:37 to play in the half and held a 34-12 lead at halftime. 

UMass got back within 10 points, 45-35, with 11:21 to play but that is as close as they would get. 

URI would cruise to a 68-50 win.

The Leaders 

URI was led by Jared Terrell who netted 15 points on 3 of 12 shooting from the field  and 7 of 7 from the free throw line. 

Kuran Iverson followed up with 13 points on 5 of 13 shooting from the field. 

Next up 

URI plays their final game of the regular season on Saturday, March 5 when they visit Fordham. The Rams beat Fordham 79-63 earlier in the season. 

Tip off is set for 2 p.m .
