Hassan Martin leads URI with 17 pointsThe URI Rams (10-7, 2-2 A10) fell 69-64 to the (12-3, 4-0 A10) St. Bonaventure Bonnies on Wednesday night in New York. The Rams have now dropped two straight conference games.

A Jarvis Garrett traditional three-point play put the Rams up 64-60 with 3:40 left to play in the game. However, URI would not score the rest of the game.
After a Christion Thompson foul, the Bonnies would knock down both free throws to cut their deficit to two, 64-62, with 3:17 left.
After Martin missed a three-pointer on the following possession, St. Bonaventure would take over with just under 2 minutes to play.
On the possession, URI played solid defense for nearly the full 30 seconds until the Bonnies Gregg Denzel knocked in a 25 foot shot to give the Bonnies a 65-64 lead with 1:37 to go.
The next three Rhody possessions resulted in a missed jump shot, a turnover and a missed layup.
The Bonnies would add to their lead at the free throw line and go on to win the game and remain undefeated in conference play.
The Leaders
URI was led by Hassan Martin who netted 17 points on 8 of 11 shooting from the field, while grabbing six rebounds.
Jarvis Garrett followed up with 16 points in the game.
Next up
The Rams return home on Saturday, January 16 when they host La Salle at 2:30 p.m. at the Ryan Center. The Rams are 8-2 at home this season.

2nd Chance Points
One area where the Rams really dominated was on the offensive glass.
Led by Kuran Iverson and Hassan Martin, 3 Offensive boards each, URI out rebounded the Bonnies 14-7 on the offensive glass and were able to turn those rebounds in to 17 second chance points. St. Bonaventure only had 8.
The Rams outrebounded the Bonnies 35-31 overall.
Jarvis Garrett
Jarvis Garrett followed up Hassan Martin with 16 points on 5 of 14 shooting from the field and 4 of 5 from the free throw line.
Garrett also grabbed 3 rebounds and dished out 2 assists in 35 minutes of action.
Hassan Martin
In his third game back, second game back in the starting lineup, Hassan Martin led URI with 17 points on 8 of 11 shooting from the field.
Martin also grabbed 6 rebounds and blocked a shot in 36 minutes of action.
Despite the loss, Hassan Martin rounding back into form is a good sign for the Rams.
Bench Points
Earl Watson had two points and Christion Thompson had nine points for a URI bench total of 11 points on a combined 4 for 13 shooting from the field.
St. Bonaventure got a huge lift off their bench in the form of Denzel Gregg who shot 5 of 6 from the field and made as many free throws (10) as URI's entire team.
URI was outscord 22-11 in bench points.
Free Throws
A big difference in the game was the free throw disparity.
URI shot 15 free throws and made 10 of them.
The Rams were led at the line by Jarvis Garrett who shot 5 free throws and made 4 of them.
Meanwhile, St. Bonaventure shot 31 free throws and made 26 of them.
