The Rams trailed by three, 67-64, with four minutes left in overtime before they managed to rip off an 11-2 run to take a 75-69 lead with 21 seconds left to play.
The run was sparked by back to back three-pointers from Jarvis Garrett and then Jared Terrell.
The Rams sealed the game at the free throw line, knocking down four straight, between Hassan Martin and Four McGlynn.
The Leaders
The Rams were led by Hassan Martin who poured in a career high 27 points and grabbed nine rebounds, six of which came on the offensive end.
URI also has three players with 12 points including Four McGlynn, Jared Terrell and Jarvis Garrett.

URI returns to action on Tuesday, December 22 when they visit Old Dominion. Tip off is set for 7 p.m.

Kuran Iverson
Kuran Iverson did not shoot well in the game, 3 of 13, but contributed eight points and also pulled down a team high 11 rebounds.

Hassan Martin
Center Hassan Martin poured in a career high 27 points on 10 of 14 shooting from the field. This is the first time that Martin has scored over 20 points all season for URI.
Martin also grabbed 9 rebounds, 6 offensive, blocked 4 shots and had 3 assists in the game to lead URI to a win.
Free Throws
URI's free throw woes continue and it nearly cost them in this game.
URI got to the line with 1 second left with the game tied at 64 and a chance to win. Nicola Akele missed both free throws.
The Rams went 22 of 35 from the free throw line for a percentage of 63.
Rebounding/2nd Chance Pts
This game was won on the glass and Dan Hurley as well as URi fans everywhere have to be thrilled with the effort in this game.
URI dominated Iona on the boards, 54-38.
More importantly, the Rams pulled down 20 offensive rebounds which helped lead to 21 second chance points.
Iona grabbed 4 offensive rebounds and scored 7 second chance points out of it.
