39th Annual Norman Bird Sanctuary Harvest Fair, Middletown

Saturday-Sunday  A fall Rhode Island classic with mud pit, monkey bridge and greased pole. From hay and pony rides to pumpkin painting and children's crafts, the Norman Bird Sanctuary celebrates country pleasures at its annual Harvest Fair offering families a wealth of time-honored games and live entertainment. 10am-5pm. Friday-Sunday  Date night, anyone?  7th Annual Duck Race, Royal Mills, West Warwick 

Saturday  The family fun at Thundermist Health Center's 7th Annual Duck Race includes face painting, balloon art, and pumpkin painting. At 1:30 approximately 3,000 ducks race down the Pawtuxet River. The owner of the winning duck receives $1,000. The event is free and open to the public. Ducks can be purchase for $5 (6 for $25) the day of the event or on our website. 11am-2pm (duck launch at 1:30!). The event is free and open to the public.  Festival Fete's Wakefield Art Festival, Wakefield 

Saturday  Festival Fete will hold an arts extravaganza in charming Wakefield. More than 120 Contemporary American Craftsmen, festive food, live music & strolling entertainment to include Big Nazo, Eddie Raymond the Magician, Ladies of the Rolling Pin, and Lizzie James & the Greystone Rail. 10am-5pm. FREE. Rain or shine. 

2nd Annual Celebrate Burrillville, Burrillville

Saturday  A showcase for town organizations and local government is a fun family Blackstone Valley outing. Check out the Burrillville Police Mobile Command Center & Car Seat Inspections; Face Painting; Mini Vendor Fair hosted by RE:discover; Recycled Bird Feeder Craft and Game Center provided by the Burrillville Parks & Recreation Department; Bird Walk with Todd McLeish at 10:00 am along the Burrillville Bike Path; and the Jesse Smith Library Story Trail where children follow the “Path of Pages” to enjoy the popular children’s book Bats at the Library. Then head inside the library for a special bat craft and outside for stories and a craft. There will be a special Geek the Library table as well.
