Man Stabbed in Robbery in Providence

A man was stabbed and robbed in Providence on Saturday night.

It was the fourth person stabbed in the city in one day, after three people were stabbed in a club brawl early Saturday morning

Shortly after 11 PM on Saturday, police responded to Kennedy Plaza for a report of a stabbing. 

The victim - a male in his 40s - told police he been walking by Eddy and Ship Streets in the Jewelry district when two men approached him and then stabbed him in both arms.

The suspects reportedly then stole cash and personal items from the victim.

Police said the victim was suffering from stab wounds to his arms, and had wrapped a shirt around one of the wounds to try and stop the bleeding.

Rescue was called and the victim was taken to Rhode Island Hospital.
