Narragansett Man Dies in One Car Crash

Rhode Island State Police have reported that on Saturday shortly after 4:30 PM, Troopers from the Wickford Barracks, along with members of the North Kingstown Rescue and Fire Department, responded to reports of a single-vehicle crash on Route 4 South in the vicinity of Route 102 in the Town of North Kingstown.

According to the State Police investigation, a Toyota pickup truck was traveling in the right lane of Route 4 South.

As the vehicle traveled by the Route 102 overpass, the operator, identified as David J. Correira, age 48, of Narragansett, reportedly lost control of his vehicle.

The pickup subsequently veered right, left the roadway and struck two trees that were located on the right shoulder.

This collision forced the vehicle to spin 180 degrees and roll over, coming to rest on the driver's side, on the road's right shoulder, facing northbound.

Correira was pronounced deceased on the scene by members of the North Kingstown Fire Department.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
