NEW: Gas Prices Up Another 15 Cents

The average price of gas in Rhode Island rose by 15 cents over the past week, making this the second consecutive week that prices have increased by that amount.

A survey done on March 7 by AAA Southern New England found the average cost of regular unleaded gas in the state to be $3.51 per gallon, which is one cent higher than the national average of $3.50. Prices ranged from a low of $3.43 to a high of $3.59.

One year ago, the average price in RI was $2.75, which is 76 cents lower than the current cost.
