1.  What do you think is the biggest political issue this campaign season in Rhode Island?

Corruption. The General Assembly should have term limits for legislators. Senators and Representatives are elected to serve the citizens of RI and not the special interest groups that have bought our legislators for years. Tolls via RhodeWorks, RhodeMapsRI, 38 Studios, the corruption just goes on and on.  Corruption is by far, the issue that concerns most voters that I have spoken within District 12.

2.  What do we need to do to improve Rhode Island’s economy?

Eliminate Corporate Income Tax, eliminate Tolls via RhodeWorks Project, eliminate the mandates forced upon our cities and towns and completely revamp the entire welfare system that are all decimating our economy and discourage new business from coming to RI.

3.  What is the greatest challenge facing Rhode Island as a state?

Passing legislation in a Democrat dominated and controlled assembly that for years have been destroying our economy and ramming mandated legislation down the throats of citizens. Only the voters of RI can change the General Assembly by voting out the career politicians on November 8, 2016, and replacing them with legislators that will do the job that they are elected to do… represent and work for all the citizens of RI.

4.  Why are you running for office?

I am so concerned for the losses of liberty and property that we have experienced as a country and state, so disgusted with how far we have come from our Founding Fathers' dream of a prosperous nation. District 12 has not had a Republican candidate run for this seat since election year 2008. This should never have happened, voters should always have a choice. I have been a strong conservative my entire adult life. I believe that we can resolve the issues that plague our state with conservative management of state tax dollars as well as better management of state mandates and bond initiatives. I believe that giving fiscal management and control back to cities and towns will allow for responsible local spending that is unique to their own demographics.

5.  Who is your inspiration?

Personally, my Dad, who was a World War II Marine, loved his country, he raised 4 kids to have values, morals, honesty and integrity. Politically, John Locke, an English philosopher and physician (1632-1704) widely regarded as one of the most influential of enlightenment thinkers. Lock said, "Government is morally obligated to protect life, liberty and property". As an inspiration to our Founding Fathers, and documented by our own Ben Franklin, Thomas Jefferson and Thomas Paine, Locke also defined the principle of checks and balances to limit government power.

Biography:

Born October 7, 1952 in Long Beach, CA, the 3rd of 4 children. I graduated in 1976 from California Polytechnical State University (CalPoly) at San Luis Obispo with a degree in Computer Science. My 38 year career has been in military defense contracting, retiring in 2015 after 28 years at Raytheon Corp. I have been married to Laura for 34 years and we have 4 kids and 7 grandkids. I am a member of the Newport Rifle Club, and Vice President of the Tiverton Town Committee. I have no political experience nor do I owe anyone in RI favors nor have I promised voters anything other than to fight for a change for our State.  I have never been a member of a union and only want the same opportunity to prosper for my children and grandchildren that my generation has experienced.
