The Injury

According to NBC Sports, Brady suffered the injury during the Patriots loss to the Carolina Panthers on October 1.

Brady then re-aggravated the injury in the game against Tampa Bay.

Brady Taking Hits

Through the first five games of the season, Brady has been hit repeatedly.

According to NFL stats, Brady has been sacked 16 times so far this season and hit 33 times.

"it's just football, I'll be there next Sunday," Brady said in his press conference after the game against Tampa.

The 33 hits are tied for 7th most in the NFL, while the 16 sacks are eighth most in the league.

By comparison, in 16 regular season games last season, Patriots quarterbacks took just 24 sacks and were hit 73 times.

Brady was hit 19 times and sacked nine times in three playoff games.

“I think for me more than anything I try to land more on my left shoulder than my right shoulder because you've only got one right shoulder and I need this for a lot of throws, and the more hits you take on it then the harder it is to take. I just do the best I can do. There's some luck involved, but let's go again, baby. Let's line them up and play,” said Brady in his press conference prior to the game against the Panthers.
