Brown Cruises Past Johnson & Wales 100-61 in Final Non-Conference Game

In their final tune-up before Ivy League play begins, the Brown Bears cruised past Division III Johnson & Wales 100-61 on Monday night at the Pizzitola Center.

The Bears open Ivy League play on Saturday when they host Yale.

"I liked the way we shared the ball and the way we defended, especially after the first eight minutes. We have a lot of different ways to play and have shown some grit and toughness. We did a lot of good things tonight and it's now on to the Ivy League season,” said Brown head coach Mike Martin after the game.

The Bears finish the non-conference schedule with a record of 12-4, the most non-league wins in school history.

Brown Cruises

The Bears dominated right from the start.

Led by 12 points from Desmond Cambridge, the Bears jumped out to a 17-8 lead in the opening minutes.

Brown would then go on a 10-2 run capped off by a Travis Fuller jumper to take a 27-10 lead with 13:20 to play.

The Bears would go on to score 57 points in the half and take a 57-33 lead into the locker room.

The Bears led by as many as 42 points in the second half.

Brown was led by Desmond Cambridge, who poured in 18 points.

Obi Okolie added 12 points.

Ivy League Play Begins

Ivy League play begins on Saturday, January 19 when they host Yale at the Pizzitola Center.

Game time is set for 3:30 p.m.
