Brown Cruises Past Salve Regina 96-64

The Brown Bears men’s basketball team cruised past in-state rival Salve Regina 96-64 on Wednesday afternoon at the Pizzitola Center. 

The win is Brown’s fourth straight and improves them to 4-2 on the season. 

"We did some really good things on the court and I'm happy everyone had a chance to play. We have a lot of talent on the team with a deep roster who can play,” said Brown head coach Mike Martin after the game.

The Bears were led by Tamenang Choh, who poured in 13 points on 5 of 6 shooting from the field. 

Brown Cruises to Win

Brown jumped on Salve Regina right from the tip, getting off to a 13-5 lead in the first four minutes. 

Leading by six, 16-10, the Bears went on a 17-6 run capped off by a Choh lay-up to take a 33-16 lead with 7:11 left to play in the half. 

Salve Regina would get within 11, 36-25, with 4:54 to play in the game, but the Bears would close the hula strong. 

Sparked by a three-point play from Zach Hunsaker and then a three by George Mawanda-Kalema, the Bears would end the half on a 14-3 run to take a 50-28 halftime lead. 

Brown led by as many as 33 points in the second half before cruising to the win.

Brown returns to action on Sunday, November 25 when they host Bryant.
