Cambridge's 29 Points Leads Brown Past Navy 67-50

Desmond Cambridge poured in 29 points to lead the Brown Bears past Navy 67-50 on Saturday afternoon in Annapolis, Maryland.

Cambridge’s points came on 12 of 18 shooting from the field including five threes. He also pulled down seven rebounds and dished out three assists.

"Desmond was hot early and his teammates did a good job of freeing him and finding him. He played with confidence and was aggressive on both ends of the court,” said head coach Mike Martin after the game.

The win improves Brown to 6-3 overall, while Navy drops to 2-5.

"We certainly defended them well for the entire game. A lot of guys contributed and we shared the ball extremely well with 20 assists on 27 baskets,” Martin added.

Brown Cruises

The Bears got off to a hot start in the game, with Cambridge scoring 13 of their first 17 points to put Brown ahead 17-11 with just under 11 minutes to play in the half.

Brown later led by 16 points, 32-17, before Navy cut their deficit to 32-23 going into the break.

In the opening minutes of the second half, Brown broke the game open.

Capped off by a Cambridge three, Brown opened the half on a 13-2 run to take a 45-25 lead.

The Bears led by as much as 24 points in the second half before cruising to the win.

Next Up

The Bears return to action on Wednesday, December 5 when they visit Butler.

Game time is set for 7 p.m.
