Dunn netted a career high 27 points, dished out 11 assists and grabbed 13 rebounds.
The triple-double is the first ever by a Friar in a Big East game and only the ninth ever by any Big East player in a Big East contest.
Dunn nearly had a triple-double in the first half, netting ten points, grabbing nine rebounds and dishing out seven assists in the frame.
Dominating performance
Providence got off to a fast start, leading by as many as 21 points in the first half and taking a 18 point lead into the locker room. The Blue Demons made a run in the second half, cutting the PC lead down to as little as eight, 68-60 with four minutes left to go. However, PC went on a 7-2 run to put the game on ice and secure their third straight win.
Road Trip
PC returns to action on Saturday when they visit St. John's. Tip-off is set for 12 noon at Madison Square Garden.

Five Takeaways From the Friars 83-72 Win Over DePaul
Kyron Cartwright
Kyron Cartwright had the best performance of his young career, netting a career high 11 points on 5-of-5 shooting from the field in 24 minutes of play time off the bench.
The 24 minutes is the most Cartwright has played in a game since playing 28 minutes against Kentucky in November.
This is also the first time he has played over 20 minutes in a game since playing 21 against Stony Brook in early December.

Tyler Harris
Tyler Harris netted 11 points on 3-of-9 shooting from the field and 5-of-6 from the free throw line. Harris also grabbed five rebounds in 22 minutes of play time off the bench.
Tyler Harris has now reached double-figures in four straight games for the Friars and is beginning to play a little more consistently which is what PC needs from him.
Dominating performance
This game was a bit of a trap game for PC against a DePaul team that has been playing well lately. This game was supposed to be Tuesday night at 9 p.m. but because of blizzard juno, it was moved to a Thursday afternoon game.
I thought it would be a tricky game because the building wasn't alive, only a little more then 3,000 fans showed up students had classes. It was a game where the Friars would had to create their own momentum and energy and they did that right from the start.
1st Place
With the 83-72 win over DePaul, Ed Cooley has the Friars at 6-2 in conference and in sole possession of first place in the Big East.
However, the first place Friars will now be challenged as they hit the road for three straight games starting Saturday, January 31 against St. John's and then #21 Georgetown and Xavier to follow that.
After that road trip, PC returns home to host #7 Villanova.

Kris Dunn notched his first career triple-double against DePaul with a career high 27 points, 13 rebounds and 11 assists.
Dunn's 27 points came on 10-of-15 shooting, including 3-of-4 from three-point land.
Dunn becomes the first Friar since Geoff McDermott to record a triple-double and is the first Friar EVER to record a triple-double in Big East play.
More history, Dunn is only the ninth Big East player to record a triple-double in conference play.
