Inaugural Play for Peace Basketball All-Star Game to be Held Tonight

The inaugural Play for Peace All-Star game will be held on Friday, June 26 at Jorge Alvarez High School and will feature over 20 professional basketball players from the Northeast.

The night will include the players discussing their stories of hardships, determination and success  while stressing the importance of earning a college degree. The discussion will conclude with a question and answer session.

Among the players participating in the game and discussion are former Providence College Friars Jeff Xavier and Vincent Council, former URI stars Delroy James and Keith Cothran as well as the leading scorer for the Providence Sky Chiefs' Shane DaRosa and Mark Alexander. Also in attendance  will be Johnson & Wales two-time All- American and NCAA leading scorer Lamonte Thomas.
