Patriots Cruise

After completing just 13 passes last week, Patriots quarterback Tom Brady finished the game completing 24 of 33 passes for 250 yards and four touchdown passes.

After New England’s opening drive stalled, the Patriots found the end zone on their second possession when Brady hit James White for a 17-yard touchdown pass to put New England up 7-0 after an extra point by Stephen Gostkowski.

After the Jets kicked a field goal to end the first quarter, the Patriots would put the game away in the second quarter.

Brady connected with Rex Burkhead on an 18-yard touchdown pass to give the Patriots a 14-3 lead following a Gostkowski kick.

The touchdown capped off a seven play, 75-yard drive.

On the Jets ensuing offensive possession, New England’s Trey Flowers forced a fumble which was recovered by Devin McCourty and returned to New York’s eight-yard line.

Five plays later, Brady connected with Phillip Dorsett for a touchdown to put the Patriots up 21-3 following a Gostkowski extra point.

The Patriots defense came up big again in the third quarter when Adam Butler forced Jets quarterback Sam Darnold to fumble on the Jets 46-yard line.

The fumble was recovered by Kyle Van Not and returned 46 yards to the end zone for a Patriots touchdown, giving them a 28-3 lead.

Gostkowski added a 38-yard field goal in the fourth quarter to put the Patriots up 31-3.

New England added another touchdown late in the fourth quarter when Brady connected with a wide-open Julian Edelman for a five-yard touchdown pass to give the Patriots a 38-3 lead.

Edelman finished the game with five catches for 69 yards and a touchdown. One catch short of 500 for his career.

The Patriots would cruise to the win.
