None of the Top Bracketologists Have PC in the Big Dance
PHOTO: PCAccording to the so-called college basketball experts, Providence College will not make the NCAA Tournament when the teams are announced.
The Friars’ failure to topple Marquette University on Friday night, coupled with a mediocre strength of schedule ranking and some upsets this weekend, has pushed the Friars out of top prognosticator’s predicted NCAA brackets.
ESPN’s Joe Lunardi — He does not have the Friars in the last four out, but in the four teams after that.
CBS Sports' Jerry Palm — Does not list the PC in the last four out.
Fox Sports' Mike DeCourcy—As of noon on Sunday, he had not updated his brackets and had the Friars in the last four out. But that does not include North Carolina State’s big win in the ACC Tournament and the capture of an automatic bid on Saturday night. NC State upset both Duke and North Carolina.
The Athletic’s Brian Bennett has also not updated since Saturday and has the Friars as a last-four out.
According to the experts — the Friars are headed to the NIT. So-called bracketologists are also often wrong.
Selection Sunday is Sunday, March 17. The 68-team fields for the men's and women's NCAA DI basketball tournaments will be announced during selection shows. The men's tournament will be revealed at 6 p.m. ET on CBS, with the women's tournament reveal set for 8 p.m. ET on ESPN.
