PC Basketball Announces 2018-19 Non-Conference Schedule, Will Not Play Brown

The Friars have announced their 2018 non-conference schedule.
The Providence College Friars men’s basketball team has announced its 2018 non-conference schedule.

The schedule consists of eight home games, two road games, and three neutral site games.

One noticeable absence from the schedule is the Friars will not play the Brown Bears this season.

It is the first time since 2005-2006 that the two programs will not play. Brown has beaten PC twice in the past few years and took them to overtime last year.

Schedule Break Down

Home & Neutral Site Games

Providence will open the season November 6 at the Dunkin Donuts Center against Siena.

Three days later on November 9, the Friars will travel to Annapolis, Maryland for a neutral site game against Wichita State, before returning home to host Holy Cross on November 13.

Following that game, PC will take part in the Basketball Hall of Fame Tip-Off Tournament at Mohegan Sun starting on November 17 against South Carolina.

The Friars will then play either Michigan or George Washington on November 18.

PC will then host Iona and Fairleigh Dickinson on November 24 and 25, before renewing their rivalry with the University of Rhode Island on December 1 at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center.

The Friars will host UMass on December 7, Central Connecticut on December 16 and close their non-conference home schedule on December 18 against Albany.

Road Games

The Friars will only play two true road games during their non-conference schedule.

Their first road game comes on December 4 when they visit Boston College.

Their second and final non-conference road game comes on December 21 when they visit Texas.

Texas will return the favor and come to Providence the following season.
